Maintenance slows Petrobras’ offshore oil production
Petrobras’ oil production averaged 2.02 MMb/d in March.
RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras’ oil production averaged 2.02 MMb/d in March, 3% down on the previous month’s figure.
The main cause was continued shutdowns at large offshore production centers; maintenance on theP-31 platform, which resumed production on March 28; and a fire aboard the P-48 platform, where operations restarted last week.
However, the company’sdeepwater presalt oil and gas production continues to grow, up by 1.2% last month to a new high of 1.104 MMboe/d.
With fewer shutdowns scheduled,Petrobras expects to stick to its target for the year of 2.145 MMb/d of oil from its Brazilian fields.
