Petrobras sets new presalt production record

Petrobras’ oil and gas production in Brazil averaged 2.48 MMboe/d in February, slightly higher than the previous month.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras’ oil and gas production in Brazil averaged 2.48 MMboe/d in February, slightly higher than the previous month.

The company set a new record for presalt production of 1,091 MMboe/d.

Start-up of theFPSOCidade de Maricá on the Lula Alto area was one factor. The vessel has the capacity to produce up to 150,000 b/d.

Two more FPSOs are due to start up later this year on the presalt layer at the Lula Central project (Cidade de Saquarema) and the Lapa project (Cidade de Caraguatatuba).
