ABERDEEN, UK — Shell has temporarily shut down production at the Pierce Field in the UK North Sea, close to the median line with Norway, said partner Ithaca Energy in its latest results statement.

There have been operational issues related to the FPSO’s mooring system. Vessel operator Bluewater Energy Services is working on a solution; the timeline for rectification is weather-dependent, but work should take place during first-half 2024.

In the central UK North Sea, operator Ithaca has matured the FEED study for its Captain Field offshore electrification project to support FID.

The Captain Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Phase II project is about 80% complete, with first Phase II polymer injection into the subsea wells expected in first-half 2024.

Drilling operations have finished on all three Area E polymer injection wells with drilling now underway in Area D. Laying and trenching operations are also completed on the subsea flowlines and umbilicals.

The partners in the K2 discovery have opted to proceed with further appraisal, and appraisal drilling continues at Leverett (Ithaca 12%).

Finally, infill drilling continues at the Alba Field to supporting late-life production.
