VANCOUVER, Canada  Trillion Energy International’s latest well on the SASB gas field offshore Turkey in the Black Sea has delivered strong results.

Bayhanli 2, the fifth well in the company’s current campaign, reached a total MD earlier this week of 3,425 m. Petrophysical analysis indicates 43 m of gas pay in six Akcakoca Member sand units.

Currently the 7-inch production casing is being run in and cemented, along with selection of initial perforation intervals to bring the well into production. Completion and flow testing will follow once the well is perforated.

After completing Bayhanli 2, the rig will relocate to the Akkaya Tripod to spud the Alapli 2 well.

Trillion CEO Arthur Halleran said, “We are in the process of evaluating how to maximize the gas production from each well as more wells are brought into production. One avenue is to hire an engineering firm that specializes in multi-well gas fields that have different production pressures.”
