BANGKOK, Thailand  PTTEP achieved higher average sales volumes during the first half of the year, driven in part by contributions from the G1/61 Project offshore Thailand.

According to CEO Montri Rawanchaikul, after assuming operatorship of the project from Chevron in April, PTTEP has already installed two wellhead platforms and laid six new subsea pipelines and is targeting installation of six further wellhead platforms with the coming year.

The company also is preparing to drill more wells to ramp up production, in compliance with the terms of the production sharing contract, to help safeguard Thailand’s national energy security.

Late next year, PTTEP expects to take final investment decision on the country’s first carbon capture and storage project at the Arthit gas field in the Gulf of Thailand to reduce carbon emissions.
