RIO DE JANEIROPetrobras expects to reinstate gas production within the next week from the Manati field in the Camamu basin, offshore Bahia State, Brazil.

Operations had to be suspended due to the closure of the export pipeline’s subsea valve.

Petrobras has started an investigation but has pledged to maintain supply commitments to its customers.

Manati produced 3.41 MMcm/d on average last month. The other partners are Enauta Energia, GeoPark, and Petro Rio Coral Exploração Petrolífera.

Elsewhere offshore Brazil, the ANP has approved the Production Individualization Agreement (AIP) for the deepwater Mero region in the presalt Santos basin.

The Mero joint reservoir comprises the Mero field area (Production Sharing Contract LIBRA-P1) and adjacent area (Federal Government, represented by PPSA).

Individual stakes of each party in the Mero joint reservoir are now: Petrobras (38.60%), Shell Brasil (19.30%), TotalEnergies (19.30%), CNODC (9.65%), CNOOC Ltd. (9.65%), and Pré-sal Petróleo (3.5%).

Following the ANP, the agreement will be effective from Jan. 1, 2022. The partners are now negotiating equalization between expenses incurred to date and revenues arising from volumes produced up to the effective date of the agreement.
