OSLO, NorwayFutureOn has formed a partnership with Kongsberg Digital (KDI), the digital division of the Kongsberg Group.

This will combine FutureOn’s FieldTwin and KDI’s Kognitwin platforms, supporting the design, construction, and operation of digital twins for energy projects.

One key focus will be the development of digital twins for renewable projects including offshore wind, green hydrogen and carbon capture solutions, notably for oil and gas operators seeking diversification strategies.

The combination will also complement FutureOn’s existing partnership with Bentley Systems and its iTwin platform.

KDI will invest $4.5 million in the new arrangement and join Bentley Systems as a minority investor.

According to FutureOn, more than 15 international energy companies use its digital twin technology, with several others considering adopting the FieldTwin open API platform for their digital twin strategies.
