HONG KONG – CNOOC has produced first gas from the deepwater Liuhua 29-2 field in the eastern South China Sea.
The field is in 750 m (2,460 ft) water depth, 300 km (186 mi) southeast of Hong Kong. It produces via one well with a subsea wellhead, connected to existing production facilities serving Liwan 3-1 and other deepwater gas fields.
CNOOC expects peak production of around 41 MMcf/d later this year.
