KUALA LUMPUR, MalaysiaSilverwell will supply its Digital Intelligent Artificial Lift (DIAL) gas lift production optimization system to Petronas for mature fields offshore Malaysia.

The company’s Malaysian agent Neural Oilfield secured the contract, value at up to $3 million.

This will be the first multi-well deployment of DIAL offshore and the first installation in dual-string wells.

According to the company, the technology gives operators greater confidence to drill and complete dual-string wells by allowing enhanced lift from both strings separately.

It is said to provide oil production gains of up to 30% and savings of 20% in lift gas consumption, while eliminating the need for well interventions and reducing the requirement for well tests for each year of operation.

The installations are tubing-conveyed, surface-controlled multi-rate gas lift units, rated to 10,000 psi (689 bar) burst, 6,000 psi (413 bar) collapse, and 125°C (257°F).

Each Slimline DIAL unit, configured for dual-string installation, includes three independently actuated orifice valves and onboard pressure and temperature transducers.
