HONG KONGCNOOC has produced first oil from its Luda 21-2/16-3 regional development in the Bohai Sea, offshore China.

The development is in Liaodong Bay, 39 km (24 mi) north of the Luda 10-1 oilfield and 90 km (56 mi) northwest of the Suizhong 36-1 onshore terminal, in an average water depth of around 25 m (82 ft).

Facilities comprise one central platform, three wellhead platforms, and one ‘production adjective’ platform.

CNOOC expects to drill 69 development wells, and to deliver peak production of around 25,600 b/d in 2022.
