ABERDEEN, UKAker BP has issued Tendeka with a letter of intent covering supply of sand-face completion equipment to fields offshore Norway.

Over the next three years, Tendeka will provide sand screens and FloSure Autonomous Inflow Control Devices (AICDs) to Aker BP’s fields.

Karianne Amundsen, Tendeka’s Scandinavia Area Manager said: “Our fully interchangeable, field-adjustable, sand and inflow control solution is engineered for a wide range of applications and fits the different requirements Aker BP have across their assets.”

Last year, Equinor awarded the company a four-year sand and inflow control contract for the Troll field in the North Sea. This involves annual supply and installation of up to 100,000 m (328,083 ft) of sand screens and FloSure AICDs for sand-face completion.

The AICDs are said to preferentially choke unwanted produced fluids while promoting production of oil from the entire length of the well, leading to improved recovery, lower water cut, and less gas production.
