Zohr gas production maintains upward curve

MOSCOW – Production from the deepwater Zohr gas field in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea totalled 11.3 bcm during the first half of this year, according to partner Rosneft.

This is 3.6 times more than in the same period last year.

Zohr started up in December 2017, and development is proceeding according to schedule, with the onshore gas treatment capacity continuing to grow.

Current production level is 68 MMcm/d (2.4 bcf/d), with 11 production wells, three offshore pipelines, an offshore management platform, and all eight production trains of the gas treatment plant commissioned.

By the end of 2019 gas output should have reached 76 MMcm/d (2.7 bcf/d).
