Vallourec will supply TotalEnergies with tubulars for the recently launched Absheron gas field-shore tieback development offshore Azerbaijan.

Absheron is 100 km southeast of Baku in roughly 500 m of water. The development will produce up to 6 Bcm/year of gas for domestic consumption and exports, and 47,000 bbl/d of condensate.

Vallourec’s contract, covering oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and line pipe solutions, represents a total package of more than 16,000 t of tubular products.

For the OCTG scope, the company will fabricate premium pipes with VAM premium connections, including VAM SLIJ-3, its newest semi-flush premium connection for demanding offshore environments.

The delivery will also include accessories manufactured at Vallourec’s global facilities, and its dope-free CLEANWELL solution, said to reduce environmental impact.

The line pipe scope covers about 159 km of pipe with an anti-corrosion coating for both offshore and onshore applications.

Vallourec’s local VAM Caspian entity will support TotalEnergies during operations throughout the project.
