Vår Energi hires Subsea7 for Goliat-Snohvit pipeline installation

The connection will allow the Goliat Field’s previously uncommercialized gas to be delivered to Equinor’s Hammerfest LNG complex.

Vår Energi has contracted Subsea7 to install the pipeline for the Goliat Gas Export Project in the Barents Sea.

This will connect gas from the Goliat Field to the Equinor-operated Snøhvit subsea pipeline system for onward delivery to the Hammerfest LNG plant on Melkøya Island outside Hammerfest, northern Norway.

Subsea7’s full scope of work covers engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the 12.7-km, 10‑inch uninsulated carbon steel pipeline as well as installing associated subsea infrastructure for the tie-in.

Project management and engineering is underway in Stavanger, with offshore activity scheduled during 2027-2028.
