NEWCASTLE, UK --Wellstream International has formed a joint venture with Dutch pipelay contractor Sea Trucks Group, called Seastream – SURF Solutions.
The new operation will provide flexible pipe installations worldwide for subsea pipelines, risers, and umbilicals, using new vessels from Sea Trucks' Jascon fleet. The vessels, based on the Jascon 5 design, feature large deck space, ample craneage and accommodation facilities, and can perform flexible and rigid pipelay.
Five of these vessels are under construction, and scheduled for delivery between 2008-2010.
