Apache to install Gjøa infield lines

Statoil has contracted Technip to fabricate and install the Gjøa project infield pipelines in the Norwegian North Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway --Statoil has contracted Technip to fabricate and install the Gjøa project infield pipelines in the Norwegian North Sea.

Gjøa is in blocks 35/9 and 36/7, 60 km (37.29 mi) northeast of Troll C, in 360-380 m (1,181-1,246-ft) of water. Technip will install 25 km (15.5 mi) of oil and gas production and gas-lift pipelines, with diameters of 14, 12, and 4.9 in. (35.5, 30.5, and 12.5 cm)

It will execute the $32.62 million contract from its engineering center in Oslo, welding the pipelines at its spoolbase in Orkanger. The reel-lay VesselApache should install the lines during 2009.
