Shell awards Ursa, Princess development contract

Shell has awarded Technip a contract for installation of water injection flowlines and risers at Ursa and Princess fields in the Gulf of Mexico abou 140 mi (225 km) southeast of New Orleans, Louisiana. The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of flowlines and steel catenary risers, and installation of pipeline end terminations.

PARIS --Shell has awarded Technip a contract for installation of water injection flowlines and risers at Ursa and Princess fields in the Gulf of Mexico abou 140 mi (225 km) southeast of New Orleans, Louisiana. The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of flowlines and steel catenary risers, and installation of pipeline end terminations.

The four subsea water injection wells will tie-back to the Ursa platform in 3,780 ft (1,152 m) water depth in Mississippi Canyon. Installation is scheduled for 4Q2007.

Technip in Houston will execute the contract; Technip in Mobile, Alabama, will assemble the pipe stalks; andDeep Blue will deploy the pipelines in a reel lay form.
