STAVANGER, NORWAY -- TDW Offshore Services has completed a successful pipeline pressure isolation and joint test offshore western Borneo for Sarawak Shell Berhad.

A SmartPlug isolated a section of the line so it could be cut, a new flange welded on, and a new valve installed, says TDW. Following that, the installation was tested wtih a joint tester in order to avoid having to pressurize the entire line.

The work was done on platform F23P-A on a gas export line that forms part of the pipeline from that platform to the E11R-A platform.

The Sarawak Shell Berhad facilities include the M3, B11, E11 RB, F23, and F6 platforms. Natural gas is transported through four major trunk lines of the pipeline network to an onshore processing plant in Bintulu.
