LONDON – ConocoPhillips confirms the award of a contract to Subsea 7 Inc. for supply of a pipeline bundle for the Jasmine discovery in the North Sea. Subsea 7 will supply engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning for the project.
The work covers two 4 km (2 ½ mi) long pipeline bundle systems and associated pipe-in-pipe spools. Each bundle is to include a 16-in (40.6-cm) production pipeline inside a 20-in (50.8-in) sleeve housed in a 35-in (89-cm) carrier pipe. The bundle will connect the new Judy riser platform to the new Jasmine wellhead platform. Work also includes installing a 9 km (5 ½ mi) power and communications cable to connect the Judy platform to the Jasmine living quarters and also installation of two 300 m (984 ft) control umbilicals to connect subsea isolation valves to the two platforms.
Project management and engineering will be from Subsea 7 in Aberdeen. Fabrication will be at Subsea 7’s bundle fabrication worksite in Wick, North Scotland. Offshore operations are scheduled for 2Q 2012.
The new Jasmine facilities will be 8.5 km (5 ¼ mi) west of the existing Judy production platform in J block, Central North Sea, in water depths of up to 85 m (280 ft).
