Bredero Shaw, OOO ArkhTekhnoProm form pipe coating JV

TORONTO, Canada -- Bredero Shaw has agreed with OOO ArkhTekhnoProm to establish a pipe coating facility in Russia’s Arkhangelsk region that will provide advanced concrete weight coating services to the northern Russia offshore pipeline market.

The joint venture will form a company owned 75% by OOO ArkhTekhnoProm and 25% by Bredero Shaw. Bredero Shaw will lease one of its proprietary mobile concrete coating plants to the joint venture company and will operate the plant under a four-year technical services agreement.

The JV’s first contract involves concrete weight coating a 48-in. (122-cm) pipe for a pipeline crossing of Baydaratskaya bay from the Yamal peninsula. The project is scheduled to begin in the second quarter.
