HOUSTON – Chevron has selected Insensys to provide structural integrity monitoring systems on Tahiti in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
The program will employ Insensys' patented direct strain optical monitoring systems to measure flowline response at highly stressed locations.
An Insensys subCstrip will be attached to the flowline joint to continuously monitor its shape and lateral deformation.
According to the contractor, this provides Chevron with a complete picture of the flowline response to operational and shutdown cycles, allowing an accurate record of accumulated strain and associated fatigue over the life of the field.
