Two new Russian Barents Sea pipelines to be installed following dredging of shore aproach

(Rotterdam) Dredging group Royal Boskalis Westminster has won a seabed preparation contract associated with oil pipeline construction in the Russian Barents Sea. Lukoil has commissioned two new 20-km lines to transport oil from Varandey on the mainland for delivery to tankers at an offshore loading terminal.
Work was due to start this month, concluding in November. Boskalis is deploying its large trailing suction hopper vesselOranje for the work, which involved laying the two pipelines at a maximum seabed depth of 20 m.
