Technip awarded Princess gas lift flowline contract

Shell Offshore has awarded Technip a contract to deliver a gas lift flowline and associated equipment, for the Princess project in the Gulf of Mexico.

PARIS -- Shell Offshore has awarded Technip a contract to deliver a gas lift flowline and associated equipment, for the Princess project in the Gulf of Mexico. The development is tied back to the Ursa TLP in Mississippi Canyon block 809.

The contract covers project management and engineering; weld, non-destructive examination, and fatigue qualifications; fabrication of a 4.5-in. (11-cm) flowline and a steel catenary riser (SCR); installation of the flowline and SCR section along with a free issue pipeline end termination (PLET); and pre- and post-lay surveys.

Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas, will execute the contract. The flowline and SCR will be welded at the group's spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama. Offshore installation will be carried out by Technip's deepwater pipelay vesselDeep Blue.
