Technip to perform Matterhorn field pipeline repair

Total E&P USA has awarded Technip a repair and installation contract for a gas export pipeline on the Matterhorn field.

HOUSTON -- Total E&P USA has awarded Technip a repair and installation contract for a gas export pipeline on the Matterhorn field. The field is located in Mississippi Canyon block 243 in 2,810 ft (856 m) of water.

Technip’s scope of work is to re-route an existing 10-in. (25-cm) pipeline so that the Matterhorn platform can tie into an existing 12-in. (30-cm) trunkline in Mississippi Canyon block 108.

Technip’s operating center in Houston, Texas will execute the contract. The flowline will be welded in Technip’s spoolbase located in Mobile, Alabama. Offshore installation is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter using deepwater pipelay vessel Deep Blue.
