OSLO -- The Skanled Project Group, a consortium of eight companies, has invited Gasunie, the Dutch-based gas infrastructure and transport company, to join them in preparing a final investment decision for the proposed Skanled gas pipeline.

Before the final investment decision can be taken further, maturing and clarification is required, the companies say. The Skanled Project Group is leading this process and intends to submit a Plan for Installation and Operation (PIO) to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on April 1. The approval of the PIO is a prerequisite for the investment decision, which is planned to be taken later this year.
