Xcite awards North Sea Bentley oil field pipelay contract

Ocean Installer has a letter of intent from Xcite Energy Resources for work on the Bentley heavy oil development in the UK northern North Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway –Ocean Installer has a letter of intent from Xcite Energy Resources for work on the Bentley heavy oil development in the UK northern North Sea.

This involves laying two 2.1-km (1.3-mi) oil export pipelines from theRowan Norway production jackup to a shuttle tanker. The program should be performed in April, using a vessel subcontracted from Reef Subsea Power and Umbilical.

According to Steinar Riise, CEO of Ocean Installer, the contract marks the company’s entry into the UK subsea sector.
