Offshore staff
VICENZA, Italy -- Atlantida Socothern has been awarded a $75 million contract for the concrete weight coating of the Dragon-Cigma pipeline in the Mariscal Sucre field, offshore Venezuela.
The company's scope of work includes the application of the concrete weight coating system on 115 km (71 mi) of 36-in. (91-cm) steel pipes, which will connect the Dragón offshore platform with the Cigma industrial complex, located in the Paria Peninsula, Sucre State.
Additionally, the contract sets down the installation of a cathodic protection system through the installation of sacrificial anodes. The Mariscal Sucre project is targeted to develop the four non associated and condensate liquid gas fields, located in the north of Paria Peninsula (Río Caribe, Mejillones, Patao y Dragón) in order to produce 1.2 bcf/d of gas and 18,000 b/d of condensate.
The coating operations will be performed during 2009 in the company's Guiria, Venezuela facilities.
