STAVANGER, Norway –TDW Offshore Services has tied in Shamrock and Caravel gas fields for Shell UK Ltd. in the North Sea to the existing Corvette field pipeline system.
In the processing TDW says it hydro-tested the 20-in (51 cm) system to 375 bar (37.5 MPa), or the equivalent of 680 tons (617 metric tons) of axial load. This is the highest pipeline pressure ever isolated by TDW Offshore.
The tie in was of a 16-in (41 cm) gas export pipeline to the existing 20-in gas export line.
