LUXEMBOURG  Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) has asked Tenaris to provide line pipes and services for Phase II-A of the Sakarya gas field subsea-shore development in the western Black Sea, 175 km offshore Eregli, Turkey.

The award follows the company’s previous deliveries for Sakarya Phase I, which came onstream earlier this year.

Andrea Previtali, Tenaris vice president of Line Pipe and Process, said the follow-up order was based on previous favorable experience with the company’s fast-track logistics system and “reliable network of suppliers.”

For Phase II, Tenaris will supply 46,000 tons of 16-inch pipes combined with its One Line services package, which will include application of a three-layer polypropylene anti-corrosion coating on all pipes, anti-buoyancy concrete coating on a 5-km section of the pipeline, installation of sacrificial anodes, buckle arrestors and bends.

Pipe production will start in September in Dalmine, northern Italy, with the full delivery scheduled to be fulfilled by year-end 2024.
