COPENHAGEN, Denmark  The Danish Energy Agency has completed its salvage operation concerning an object on the seafloor by the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the Baltic Sea.

Denmarks’ Armed Forces said the salvage, conducted with a representative of the pipeline owner Nord Stream 2 AG, took place in 73 m water depth.

Studies suggest the object is an empty smoke buoy used for visual marking and does not pose a security risk.
