    First Nord Stream 2 pipeline completed

    Pipelay has finished for the first offshore string of the Nord Stream 2 gas trunkline system through the Baltic Sea.

    In the Bay of Greifswald, two pipeline ends are connected on the pipelay vessel Castoro 10 in a procedure known as above-water tie-in.

    Offshore staff

    ZUG, Switzerland – Pipelay has finished for the first offshore string of the Nord Stream 2 gas trunkline system through the Baltic Sea.

    Following completion of the above water tie-in, the offshore pipeline sections laid from Russia and Germany have been interconnected.

    Pre-commissioning activities are now under way to prepare for gas-in.

    Offshore pipelay works continue for the second string.
