North Sea SAGE pipeline to transport gas from Lundin’s fields

Lundin Energy Norway has awarded Ancala Midstream Acquisitions a life-of-field contract to transport and process gas from the Solveig field in the Edvard Grieg area of the Norwegian North Sea.

ABERDEEN, UKLundin Energy Norway has awarded Ancala Midstream Acquisitions a life-of-field contract to transport and process gas from the Solveig field in the Edvard Grieg area of the Norwegian North Sea.

First gas is due to come onstream this summer and will be processed through Ancala’s capacity in the Beryl pipeline and the 323-km (200-mi) Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) pipeline and terminal at St. Fergus in eastern Scotland.

Ancala will also provide transportation and processing for Lundin’s extended production test on the Rolvsnes field, due to start operations in 3Q 2022.

Solveig, one of two new fields tying into Ancala’s capacity in the SAGE system this year, raising the company’s throughput in SAGE to 55%.

Jim Halliday, chief executive of Ancala, said: “We have worked closely with Lundin to develop innovative solutions to the technical challenges faced and in doing so reduced project development costs for the Solveig and Rolvsnes owners.”
