STATS enters Sakhalin-2 pipeline MoU

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia – STATS Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sakhalin Energy and OOO INTRA Services Co. at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

The Kintore, UK-based group supplies pressurized pipeline isolation, hot tapping and plugging services to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

Its DNV GL type approved isolation tools are said to provide leak-tight double block and bleed isolation for maintenance and repair of topsides and subsea pipeline infrastructure.

Sakhalin Energy Investment Co., which is owned by Gazprom, Shell, Mitsui and Mitsubishi, operates the offshore Sakhalin-2 development.

Infrastructure includes three offshore platforms, an onshore processing facility, 300 km (186 mi) of offshore pipelines and 1,600 km (994 mi) of onshore pipelines, an oil export terminal and an LNG plant.

Under the MoU, STATS personnel would work jointly with Russian partners to implement projects for wrapping, maintenance, hydraulic testing, tie-in, isolations and shut-off of the pipelines.

In addition, the company hopes to develop a long-term cooperation with a gradual increase in the Russian content and local production of STATS-supplied technology.
