Drillship continues work in the Gulf of Mexico

The Transocean Inc. ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Millennium, has received a six-month contract from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. for drilling in the US Gulf of Mexico.

The contract is expected to begin Dec. 1 and contains options to extend over three, six-month intervals at mutually agreed pricing. Revenues generated over the initial six-month contract period could reach $36.4 million.

TheDeepwater Millennium is a dynamically positioned, fifth-generation drillship capable of operating in water depths to 10,000 ft. The rig entered active service in 4Q 1999, following construction at the Samsung Shipyard in Korea. The drillship is operating in the US GoM under a contract that is expected to conclude by the end of September 2004.
