Thailand to accept bids in July

BANGKOK -- Energy Minister Piyasvasti Amranand of the Natural Fuels Department of Thailand says the agency will be accepting petroleum prospecting bids for nine offshore blocks beginning July 15, 2007.

The nine blocks covers 23,919 sq km (9,235 sq mi) of the Gulf of Thailand, the minister said.

The department will also be accepting bids for 56 onshore blocks.
