HELSINKI -- Aker Solutions has contracted Finnish steel supplier Ruukki for 24 suction anchors for Eni’s Goliat development in the Barents Sea. Ruukki also is supplying steel plate sections for the same project.
The anchors, 5.5 m (18 ft) in diameter and 6.7-9.7 m (22-32 ft) high, are due to be delivered this September from the company’s Kalajoki division. They will be used to anchor subsea manifolds to the seabed, in water depths of up to 400 m (1,312 ft).
Previously Ruukki supplied suction anchors to Aker Solutions for the new production platform for Statoil’s Gjøa field development in the North Sea.
