(Oslo) Hydro has contracted Subsea 7 for the pipelines and cables for its Oseberg Delta project in the Norwegian North Sea. This is a new satellite of the Oseberg field center (9-km distant), which is being developed via a new seabed template.

Subsea 7's remit covers engineering, procurement and construction for the design, purchase and installation of a 10-in. pipeline between the satellite structure and the Oseberg D platform, and a control cable between Oseberg Delta and the Oseberg A platform. Aker Kvaerner is supplying the control cable.

Installations will be handled next winter by the pipelay vesselSkandi Navica and the construction ship Nordica. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 8 bcm of gas and 17 MM bbl of condensate and oil. The investment should cost around NOK 1.8 bn.
