Offshore staff

(Stavanger) Statoil and its partners in the Vigdis field are investing NOK 1.2 bn to improve oil and gas recovery. Under the Vigdis Extension project, it plans to drill one oil producer and one water injector well on the Vigdis East structure in spring 2007.

FMC Kongsberg was recently contracted to supply the project's subsea trees, a four-slot template with integrated manifold, and the topsides control system. First deliveries are due in July. In September, theSaipem 7000 will install the template and manifold, while Stolt Offshore will provide and install flexible pipelines, and connect up umbilicals.

The template will be tied back to existing templates on Vigdis. No modifications will be needed to the Snorre A platform, which processes Vigdis' oil. The template's two spare well slots provide flexibility for further development either of Vigdis East or other nearby prospects.
