Keppel FELS completes Deep Driller 2

(Asia-Pacific) - Keppel FELS Ltd. has christened one of the world's deepest drilling rigs,Deep Driller 2, for Sinvest ASA of Norway.

The $126 million, KFELS Super B Class design-Deep Driller 2 is an enhanced version of the KFELS B Class design.

The rig is capable of drilling down to 35,000 ft and will be contracted to Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. for deployment offshore Brunei.

Keppel FELS says it is presently constructing four other KFELS Super B Class design jackup rigs for Sinvest.

Construction of all four rigs is progressing well and according to schedule, says Keppel.
