(Aberdeen) Britain's government has approved Maersk Oil's redevelopment plan for Donan in the UK North Sea. The Palaeocene oilfield, which lies in blocks 15/20a and 15/20b, was formerly produced by BP, and more recently was re-appraised by Kerr-McGee. It has since been re-named Dumbarton.

Maersk's plan is based on six development wells tied back to theGlobal Producer IIIFPSO, built originally by Kerr-McGee to develop the Leadon field. Dumbarton should come onstream early in 2007.
