Eni gains clearance from NPD to resume appraisal drilling of Goliat structure in Barents Sea

(Oslo) Eni Norge has secured permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to resume appraisal of its Goliat discovery in the Barents Sea. The company will drill well 7122/7-4 S in production license 229 using the semisubPolar Pioneer.

Goliat is an oil field situated between Statoil's Snohvit field and Hammerfest on Norway's northwest coast. Its sandstone reservoir is located in Late to Mid-Jurassic horizons, at a subsurface depth of 1,100 m. It comprises numerous structural segments near the Troms-Finnmark fault.
