SINGAPORE -- Santos (Sampang) Pty. Ltd. has adjusted the expected potential for the Jeruk oil discovery to less than 50 MMbbl.

The Jeruk oil discovery lies in the Sampang production-sharing contract (PSC), offshore Indonesia, 42 km (26 mi) from the city of Surabaya in 57 m (187 ft) water depth.

Santos is evaluating opportunities for commercializing Jeruk, but plans for additional appraisal drilling have been placed on hold pending review of development scenarios and the resolution of commercial and technical issues that could impact the viability of a development.

Santos holds a 40.5% interest in the Sampang PSC, which contains the Jeruk and Oyong fields. Partners include Singapore Petroleum Sampang Ltd. with 36% interest, Cue Sampang Pty. Ltd. with 13.5% interest, and PT Petrogas Oyong Jatim with the remaining 10%.
