Talisman has a new discovery within reach of the Balmoral complex

Talisman North Sea has discovered oil via well 16/22-7 on a prospect 15-km north-east of the Beauly field, where the company is operator. The location is also 10-km north-east of the Balmoral field semisubmersible platform, operated by CNR.
The well was then successfully appraised by a sidetrack, 16/22b-7z. Although neither were tested, an extensive pressure and fluid sample program was conducted, indicating light oil. Talisman plans to evaluate the find and its commerciality further using re-processed 3D seismic.
