(London) Granby Oil and Gas has reached agreement with Peak Well Management concerning drilling of a forthcoming well in UK block 42/8c. The well will be drilled in November by the jack-upEnsco 92 on the Rotliegendes Watling prospect, which Granby identified during a study of open acreage in the southern North Sea gas basin.

Block 42/28c was awarded to Granby and TGS-Nopec Geophysical Co. as a 23rd Round promote license last September. The location is 35-km east of the south Yorkshire coast, in a water depth of 55m. Under a recent farm-in arrangement, Centrica Resources agreed to operate the Watling well, and to fund the full drilling costs with farm-in partner Gas Plus Italiana. Operations will be managed by Peak on Centrica's behalf.

Peak recently concluded two further deals to use the same rig on long-term charter to BP from October to drill wells for Silverstone SNS in southern block 49/21 and for Serica Energy on the Oak prospect in block 54/1b.
