(Africa) - Eni has won the right to explore an offshore area north of Mozambique, about 2,000 km from Maputo.
The block, known as Area 4, is located in the deep waters of the Rovuma Basin, with a surface area of 17,646 sq km and a water depth of 2,600 m.
Area 4 lies in a completely unexplored and high-potential geological basin, according to Eni.
Eni is developing deepwater and ultra-deepwater projects in Nigeria, Angola, and Congo.
