Offshore staff

(US, GoM) - Dominion E&P has achieved first production from the Rigel and Seventeen Hands fields, located in Mississippi Canyon blocks 296 and 299, respectively. The Rigel field is situated in 5,200 ft and the Seventeen Hands field is in 5,800 ft of water.

The Dominion operated fields are tied back via subsea wells to a host platform operated by Chevron in Viosca Knoll block 900.

The combined design rate for the two fields is 160 MMcf/d. Dominion owns a 53% interest in Rigel, with Mariner Energy and Newfield Exploration holding the balance. The operator also holds a 38% interest in Seventeen Hands, with partners Murphy Oil Corp. and Hydro GoM LLC owning respective interest in the remaining 62%
