ABERDEEN, UK --Total E&P UK has commissioned the Loc8 data communications system from MarineMTS for all its UK offshore installations.
MarineMTS supplied its first system as a fasttrack delivery in June, following the gas leak at Total’s Elgin platform in the central North Sea.
Loc8allows real-time data to be collected, compressed and transmitted to a central response center, and accessed internationally, giving individuals and teams viewing access of vessel activity in any area.
According to MarineMTS, the system provides all available data streams, including Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPAs).
