STAVANGER, Norway– In honor of its 40th anniversary, Stavanger City Archive has assembled a web exhibition presenting pictures of ONS that go back to the first event in 1974.

All the photos are shot by the local newspaper Rogalands Avis. The pictures show everything from workers building the ONS area, various exhibitors from all around the world, as well as speakers and participants at the conferences. To view the photo exhibit, please clickhere.

To join in the celebration on Thursday, Aug. 28, ONS is inviting those who worked in the yards and offshore in the oil industry up until 1985. In addition to a celebration with cakes and an exciting program, the participants will be able to visit the exhibition.

Leif Johan Sevland, president and CEO of ONS, said: north“We wish to invite those who offered their sweat and got their hands dirty, and in some cases risked their health for the oil adventure. The guys on the shop floor who built the platforms, and those who worked offshore in the early years. We believe they deserve our thanks.”

Space is limited, so tickets will be given out on a first come, first served basis.
