Offshore West Africa 2012 Awards now open to nominations
Offshore West Africa has announced the inclusion of the Offshore West Africa Awards within the 2012 conference and exhibition, taking place in Abuja, Nigeria on January 24-26, 2012.
The Offshore West Africa 2012 Awards include Individual, Corporate, Technology and Academia awards, and will be presented at Offshore West Africa on the final day of the conference and exhibition. Winners will also be announced on the Offshore West Africa website and within Offshore magazine, recognized as the worldwide leader for covering the key issues and trends relative to offshore technology, oil and gas E&P operations. It is the world's most highly respected magazine dedicated entirely to the offshore industry, and enjoys the highest and most widely read circulation in its class.
Nominations for these awards are open to the public, with a closing date of November 28, 2011. Nominations can be made via the Offshore West Africa website, http://www.offshorewestafrica.com/index/awards.html, and after the close of nominations, voting will take place via the Offshore magazine website.
The Offshore West Africa 2012 Academia Award is for individuals or institutions within Academia who have contributed to the offshore industry, by providing solutions, reports, case studies and technological advancements within West Africa.
For the Corporate Award the company must demonstrate a unique or significant achievement in West Africa. Categories include, but are not limited to, services related to the design, construction, and installation of drilling and production facilities and equipment; project execution; leadership; community service; development of young professionals; resolution of challenges; and special consideration to health, safety, and environment.
The Offshore West Africa 2012 Individual Award is one where a candidate must demonstrate a unique or significant achievement in West Africa. Categories include, but are not limited to, services related to the design, construction, and installation of drilling and production facilities and equipment; project execution; leadership; community service; development of young professionals; resolution of challenges; and special consideration to health, safety, and environment.
The Offshore West Africa 2012 Technology Award will be judged in four main areas, these are Well Construction & Drilling Operations, Subsea Technology, Floating Production Systems, and Flowlines & Pipelines. To be considered for this award, the nominated technology must meet four key criteria, which are that it must be new and innovative, proven, health, safety and environmentally conscious and must be relevant to the West African region.
Supported by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the 16th annual Offshore West Africa will once again address key technology and development issues for the West African offshore oil and gas market, through a comprehensive educational program and three-day exhibition, under the theme – Deepwater Technologies for West Africa.
