Shell awards Subsea 7 Fram offshore pipeline bundle

Shell (NYSE:RDS.A) has contracted Subsea 7 (Oslo Børs:SUBC) for a subsea pipeline bundle for the Fram oil and gas field development in the UK central North Sea.

LUXEMBOURG – Shell (NYSE:RDS.A) has contracted Subsea 7 (Oslo Børs:SUBC) for a subsea pipeline bundle for the Fram oil and gas field development in the UK central North Sea.

Scope of the $135-million award includes engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of a 4.5-km (2.8-mi) long bundle about 44-in. diameter, with integrated manifolds and tie-in structures.

Subsea 7 will perform project management and engineering in Aberdeen, and fabrication of the bundle at its Wester site yard in Wick, northern Scotland. Offshore installations are slated for 2014, using vessels from the company’s fleet.
